Ramanand Swami - Guru of Lord Swaminarayan

 

Ramanand Swami was born as Ramsharma in VS 1795 Shraven Vad 8 in a town called Ayodhya. Ramanand Swami had powers to put his devotees in Samadhi and give them vision of Lord Supreme.

 

Muktanand Swami - Mother of Sampraday

 

Muktanand's jivan charitra is a prime example of how to do bhakti of Lord Shree Swaminarayan. His contributions to the Swaminarayan Sampradaya are too many to describe. He was one of the five Sadgurus who compiled the memorable words of Shree Hari in Vachnamrut.

 

Gopalanand Swami - Yogi Raj

 

Gopalanand Swami was born as Khushal Bhatt in Monday, Maha Sud 8, 1837 in a town called Todla (Idr area). At Gadhpur, Khusal Bhatt was given Bhagwati Diksha on Samvat 1864 Kartik Vad 8 and was given the name of Gopalanand Swami.

 

Brahmanand Swami - Kavi Raj

 

Brahmanand Swami was born as Ladudanji in Vasant Panchami 1828 in a town called Khann (near Abu in Rajastan). Brahmanand Swami's diksha took place in 1861.

 

Nishkulanand Swami - Vairagya Murti

 

Nishkulanand Swami was born as Gurjar Suthar in 1822 in a town called Sukhpat (Saurastra State). Niskulanand Swami wrote 23 scriptures in Sanskrit, Hindi, Gujurati and Kutchi. He also knew about music, as he was a renowned poet a wrote numerous poems. He kept on writing scriptures until his death.

 

Gunatitanand Swami

 

Gunatitanand Swami was born as Mul Sharma in VS 1841, in the town of Bhadra in Gujarat. His father was called Bhodanath and his mother was called Sakarba. He always saw the divine image of the Lord.

 

Nityanand Swami - Pandit

 

Nityanand Swami was born as Dinmani Sharma in VS 1812, Kartik Sud 5 in a town called Dantiya. He was one of the saints to write Vachanmrut and he translated the Shikshapatri in Gujurati which was authenticated by Lord Swaminarayan.

 

Premanand Swami - Premsakhi

 

Premanand Swami was born as Hathiram in the town of Dora Bharuch in VS 1840. He was a born poet, many of his hymns are sung daily by devotees. Premanand Swami composed the words of the Chesta Pad, which is sung and recited daily at all Swaminarayan temples.

 

Shatanand Swami (Santdasji)

 

Santdasji was born in Meethila town in Nepal. His father was called Vishnudatt, who was a brahmin. He obtained diksha in Dabhan.

 

Devanand Swami

 

Devanand Swami was born as Devidan in Kartik Sud 15, VS 1859 in a town called Barol. Devanand Swami was respected by all followers as he observed obsolete celibacy, deep devotion to Lord Swaminarayan and saintliness towards other saints. Devanand Swami was one of the eight leading poets.

 

Vasudevanand Brahmchari

 

Vasudevanand Brahmchari was born in VS 1855 in Malapur town in Gujarat. He was a Trivedi Movada Brahmin. He obtained diksha in Jetalpur and was initially named Gopalanand Brahmchari then later Vasudevanand.

 

Bhumanand Swami

 

Born as Rupjibhai in VS 1852 in a town called Keshiya near Jamnagar. His father was called Ramjibhai and his mother was called Kuverbai, his family name was Kadiya Rathod.
